Hammers and Ham Sandwiches

The village felt pretty alive this week with some cooler temperatures and the typical buzz that accompanies the week before school. I'm not in elementary school, but I certainly know when it's about to get rolling again, as all the teachers are milling about with some even popping in to pick up some meat. I also try to stay abreast of these dates, as I do have a fourth grader. It's nice when school lets back in, as it marks a little quicker pace in town.

Going to keep it pretty brief this weekend because I am all warn out from singing Pink Pony Club - a song I had never heard until yesterday - at the Haw River Ballroom with the Pop Up Chorus. If belting new pop isn't your thing, we also sang some old pop with a killer version of Dreams by Fleetwood Mac. It's pretty awesome to be in a place where you can sell meat all day then go sing pop music with your neighbors at night. I'm actually also pretty beat today from attending the first day of a weekend long tiny home building workshop at the Deep River Folk School. We mentioned them a few weeks ago and I know a few of you have checked out their offerings. It's pretty amazing the knowledge that abounds over there and it is all available really affordably. Check them out if you are so inclined.

This wasn't that brief. So have a great week and come see us!
