All Local: Ice Cream, Corn Maize & Fall CSA

Hello and welcome to this week's newsletter! I feel relatively confident in letting you know that it's going to be raining for a few days. But on the tail end of that rain, it looks like we may be moving into a new season. And that season is PUMPKIN SPICE LATTE season! While this is true, we will be doing nothing to celebrate that beverage and have actually given up on trying to incorporate anything in the gourd family into products here at the shop. But if it's your thing, we're happy for you.

A couple of things around the area that you might be interested in: Ran-Lew Dairy, the last small, family-owned dairy in Alamance County, has set up a soft serve stand at the farm. Open Friday - Sunday, they offer fantastic homemade soft serve ice cream, fresh milk and other seasonal items. It's really special and the whole community loves Randy Lewis. Check them out if you like ice cream!

Right next door to Ran-Lew Dairy is Cane Creek Farm. Eliza has been busy building/growing a corn maze on the front part of her farm. Here's more info on the Maize Craze. It opened this weekend and looks awesome and runs through Oct 31 (In other news, Eliza is bringing us some Ossabaw this week!).

Also, the Haw River Producers Cooperative starts their fall CSA on October 1. Left Bank is the pick-up point for CSA boxes and we are always super happy to partner with them. The produce is amazing and abundant and a highlight of our week since many of us at the shop are also customers. It's reasonable that you could pick up your CSA, buy some meat and be pretty well set for the week. If you want to get in on it, go ahead and sign up!

And lastly, if you'd like a turkey, let us know! Have a great week and come see us soon!
