An Extra Hour to Eat Meat
It has been a great week as we have watched the colors start to change from the shop windows. There is some flannel making an appearance in the shop and we are loving this sweet shoulder season where neither the AC or heat needs tinkering. The kids and I finally made it out to the corn maze at Cane Creek Farm and whiled away the afternoon as the light over the corn got lower. We all slept well that night.
Turkeys are starting to get a bit thin, so here is your encouraging reminder to get your order in if you would like one - you can do it! This week we will have what will likely be the last Ossabaw hogs of the year, so please let us know if you'd like some for the week or the freezer.
And lastly, we'd just like to recognize that the shop unexpectedly lost a long time customer this week. Mark MeHaffey, or Mojo, passed away unexpectedly this week and the whole village has mourned the loss of a good neighbor and a good man. Mojo was in the shop every week and we all looked forward to his huge smile, blazing orange Tennessee apparel and kindness. Mojo would famously pop in just to tell us what he was coming back to get later that day. We always loved that. We will miss our friend and send our sincerest condolences to his family.
Make sure the folks you love know it. Thanks to all of you who make our jobs and this little shop special. We love all y'all.
